Ventilators is one of the key equipments in safety production process of coalmines, which are responsible for transporting fresh air to the underground,discharging dust and dirty air and ensuring the safety production. At present, the dataare transmitted through the cable for most condition monitoring system of mineventilators, but it is difficult to implement in some industrial field. Because the mineventilators monitoring parameters are numerous and monitoring nodes are widelydistributed, it is particularly necessary to design a condition monitoring system basedon the wireless sensor network. Through the wireless sensor network, it eliminatesinconvenience of traditional cable transmission and realizes radio monitoring andfault diagnosis for ventilators running state.Based on the detailed research on the development and present situation of mineventilators monitoring system,the monitoring and fault diagnosis system for theventilator is developed through the use of wireless sensor network technology. Thewireless sensor network is built according to the ZigBee protocol.The system consistsof hardware platform, software platform and the fault diagnosis platform. Thehardware platform consists of the sink node, sensor nodes, industrial personalcomputer and several of sensors,which is responsible for real-time acquiring andtransmitting parameters of vibration, temperature, negative pressure, electricity and soon mine ventilators. The software consists of two platforms, wireless sensor networkapplication program and PC monitoring software, which achieves the function ofparameters monitoring. After detailed studying fault diagnosis theory and especiallythe unascertained measure theory for the ventilators comprehensive fault diagnosis,fault diagnosis system is developed based on VB and Matlab and realizes ventilatorsoperation fault analysis and diagnosis. Among them, sensor nodes connect with sinknode through the ZigBee wireless sensor network and sink node connects with themonitoring software on the PC via serial port. The communication mode between themonitoring software and fault diagnosis software is OPC.At the beginning, this paper brings forward the entire design to this item, andthen the design process from hardware to software is introduced in detail. This paperfocus on the application and realization of wireless sensor network protocol, thedesign of the sink node and sensor nodes, the communication protocol between thesink node and PC, the design of the monitoring software and fault diagnosissoftware, debugging and analysis of the system and so on. And a lot of experimentshave been done, the results of the experiments show that the system can achieve theexpected function. The system has stable performance, can be well applied to theindustrial field.
