Ramie is a natural textile material with Chinese characteristics. China has 95% ramieresources all around the world. Today, because of the non-renewability, oil which is the rawmaterials of numerous fibers will run out. With the reduction of these limited resources,ramie industry will bring a great market and development potential. Currently ramie has beenfully applied in weave and non-woven, but due to the special requirements of the knittingyarn, it can not produce the best possible results in knitting. Therefore, the study of ramie’shigh-efficiency and good-quality knitting is an important project.The strength and elongation properties of 26tex ramie yarns under different temperatureand humidity were explored. Ramie yarns strength and elongation were tested under differenttemperature and different water injection rate, and the elastic modulus was figured out.Orthogonal experiment was carried out with the above two conditions. The experimentalresults show that with the temperature increasing, immersion wetting ramie yarns strengthdrops and have a smaller decline than the status of dryness. The elongation remains the samefirst and then descends. The elastic modulus of ramie yarns are minimal under 50℃andimmersion wetting, also reach the minimum bending stiffness, and it is easy to knit in loop.The research of ramie yarns’strength and elongation properties provides a reference forramie’s high-efficiency and good-quality knitting.The knitting effect of Ramie yarn in flat knit under different temperature and humiditywas explored. Under the different speeds, plain stitch was woven in E14 knitting machine,while the heating ring was used for constant heat, the spray device used for continuoushumidifying. Weaving efficiency and quality was shown through recording the yarn brokentimes and fabric effect. The results show that under the normal humidity, with temperaturerise, the skewness of loop increases and the yarn broken times grow at a certain amount oflongitudinal row; Under the normal temperature, when Water Content reaches Saturation, theknit efficiency can grow from 20r/m(Normal temperature and humidity) to 32r/m withoutbroken. Meanwhile the skewness of loop reaches the minimum 5°; under the spraying, theskewness of loop is 5.78°, better than Normal temperature and humidity (9.3°), and close tosoaking (5.5°). Therefore under the environment of water fog, knitting can reach the best.
