With the development of economy and progress of society, the synthesis andapplication of high oil-absorption resins have an important practical significance forenvironment protection, the request of super oil absorption resin is more and higherregardless of the performance or the sustainable aspect of synthesized raw material. Atpresent, the synthesized methods of high oil-absorption resins are mainly limited to theChemical Synthesis Process in which energy and time consumption and synthesized costis high. In order to reduce super oil absorption resin’s synthesis cost and seek for somerenewable resources as resin’s raw material, in this experiment the following research wasdone:The acrylic resin of high oil absorption was prepared with butyl acrylate (BA) andbutyl methacrylace (BMA) as momomer, polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) as dispersing agent, N,N’-methylene bisacrylamide (MBA) as crosslinker, benzoyl peroxide (BPO) as initiator, ethyl acetate as porogen, using microwave irradiation technique. With the orthogonalexperiment, method, the best reaction conditions were estalished as follows: monomerratio (n (BMA): n (BA)) is 1:1.5, MBA was 1.0 % of monomer mass, BPO was 0.9 % ofmonomer mass, PVA was 3.0 wt %, porogen was 50.0 wt %, water-oil ratio was 3: 1, thereaction power is 100 W, at 80℃and reaction time is 60 min, Synthetic resin’oilabsorption rate of chloroform, carbon tetrachloride, the gasoline, kerosene were 31.64 g /g, 20.16 g / g, 8.27 g / g, 2.82 g / g, respectively, oil retention rate is more than 90 %.SiO2was modified with HDTMA-Br. Then the SiO2became lyophobic. The processparameters were optimized by singlefactors test and the orthogonal tests. The optimalsynthetic conditions were descriked as follow: PVA was 9.0 wt %, N,N’-Methylene-bis-(acrylamide) was 2.0 wt %, BPO was 2.0 wt %, SiO2was 1.0 wt %.The biggest absorptive capacity of the oil resin was 15.69 g/g in gasoline, 37.16 g/g inCCl4and 23.50 g/g in methylbenzene.Bentonite was Na-modificated, activated and then organically modified withHDTMA-Br. The best optimum process parameters were concluded by single factors testand the orthogonal tests. The optimal synthetic conditions were as follows: PVA was 20.0 wt %; N, N’-Methylene-bis-(acrylamide) was 1.5 wt %; BPO was 2.0 wt % and organicbentonite was 1.0 wt %. The biggest absorptive capacity of the oil resin was 15.73 g/g ingasoline, 36.24 g/g in CCl4and 35.38 g/g in CHCl3.The pseudo first-order kinetic model fits very well with the dynamical adsorptionbehavior of chloroform.
