This thesis take the Jurassic strata of Chepaizi region at the northwest edge in Junggarbasin as the object of study, Based on sequence stratigraphy, sedimentary petrology etc astheory guidance, through the study of the Jurassic strata in Chepaizi area aim to establishsequence stratigraphic framework in the research area and predict the favorable zone.First of all, All the well need to do the work--core location. a lot of cross plots on GR-AC,GR-RT,RT-AC,RT-DEN,GR-DEN,AC-DEN,the resistity (GR、AC、RT、DEN) andthe porosity were be made in order to find out the proper template of recognition oflithology.With the proper template of different strata,it can interpret the section’s litho whichkind should to be by logging curves in the Prizm module of discovery software.According to the strata sequence boundary identification mark,by analysing the data ofthe core,logging,seismic and outcrop etc and referencing to other people’s research results,The first is to find out the sequence boundary’s position, eight third-order sequenceboundaries were found out, thus the the Jurassic strata can be devided into seven third-ordersequence, and then identified system tracts of each sequence, each sequence includeLST,TST,HST except the sequence sq7, a total of eighteen system tracts were foundout,finally,sequence stratigraphic framework was established in the area of Chepaiziregion.Then,according to the established sequence stratigraphic framework,it analysed aseries of well-to-well strata profile correlation, it analysed the distribution of each sequencein the well-to-well profile and the development of system tracts and lithology characteristics,logging response characteristics.Further more deeply analysis on the distribution,changes ofeach sequences was made base on the isopach maps of each sequence.finally,it analysed the four main control factors of sequence: tectonic subsidence,thesupplying rate of sediment,climate and the change of relative lake level.Based on all theanalysis results, it predict the favorable reservoir zone.
