Along with deeply research of surface mineralization point in namibia northwestern, more and more geological workers put Kaoko area as the focus of the prospecting area, East China Non-Ferrous Metals Geological Exploration Bureau applied for exploration licence area through the overseas branch and China’s overseas risk exploration fund, and carried out the exploration activities. Through the collection of data and the exploration survey work of geological, geophysical and geochemical found that:EPL4305mineral right area is located near the ancient uplift in Opuwo area, the main outcrop strata is Abenab subgroup, whose lithology general is shale, dolomite, quartz, and the sequence unconformity overlay the continental clastic rock of Nosib group. The sedimentary environment and base development mode of Abenab subgroup. Rock series first formed lagoon shale by marine transgression,then transited to shallow carbonate into Continental clastic rock of. regressive progradation overlain the carbonate rocks, then carbonate platform evolution stopped. Such deposit environment provide the possibility for the formation of sedimentary sandstone-shale style copper deposits. Previous geological workers found some surface mineral occurrence by geological mapping and geochemical method, in the research area, identified two various mineralization types:the strata-bound Zn mineralization and epigenetic vein type Cu+Ag+Au mineralization, the shallow hole work demonstrate that the mineralization is a higher grade, but no large-scale ore quantity, prospect limited. In this study, through the comparison and analysis for geological metallogenic conditions of domestic and international sandstone-shale type copper deposits and the geological conditions of the study area, we believe that the study area has good ore-forming geological conditions, mainly attributed to widespread northwest strike fault and complicated fold structure in the area, which provided a channel and storage space for metal deposit formation; Oxidation facies Nosib sandstone and overlying reduction facies argillaceous siltstone, shale, etc formed a oxidation-reduction system provided conditions for metal mineral precipitation; The existence of large scale of surface mineralization shows that the stratamay contain a metal material or foreign metal fluid channel underground the study area.Therefore, concealed mineralization parts and the reflected form of geophysical characteristics have became the research emphases, base on the mineral combination of sandstone type copper deposits, using the induced polarization method to detect the location of concealed mineralization body, has obtained the good effect. Through induced-current middle-gradient delineated5km2of IP anomaly, determined the plane position of polarization body, on the basis of this analysis, IP sounding idetermined the buried depth and morphology of polarization body. Based on the comprehensive interpretation of IP anomaly to layout drilling, the results showed that concealed mineralization body has good induced polarization effect. The IP anomaly is located near to the northwest fault and anticline, mineralized site is located in the argillaceous siltstone, shale and fine sandstone, which provided a basis for geophysical prospecting for metallogenic geological conditions research of the study area. Aeromagnetic anomaly and remote sensing interpretation results show that have no intrusive body in the study area, and found many fault structure; The extraction of remote sensing mineralized information reflects the northwest trend fault is ore-controlling structure, which support the conclusion that the study area has good ore-forming geological conditions. The large area IP anomaly related to concealed mineralization,the five forecasting area get from remote sensing mineralized information research, metallogenic conditions and the method support each other, which all shows that the study area not only has the good geological metallogenic conditions, but also has huge prospecting space. Use the multidisciplinary advanced theory on geology, structure, deposit, geophysical and remote sensing as a guide, comprehensive the research of geological and physicochemical remote results, fully illustrates the research area has superior geological metallogenic conditions and great prospecting potential, which provide the solid foundation for further ore-prospecting work.
