In the1960s, the feminism movement flourished, academic feminist theory began to take shape and inevitably encounter with the natural sciences. And during the same period, in the area of philosophy of science, because of the work of Kuhn, logicism interpretation of science collapsed. Scholars began to pay much attention to the relationship between science and culture and between science and social. Under this circumstance, feminism entered the studies of the science. Aand the sex and science turned to a new thesis. The development of feminism science studies passed through the the feminsm empirical theory, feminism standpoint theory and postmodern feminism, at the end of1990s’a new development began to come out. The basic feature of this development is the transformation from epistomology to materialism ontology. The aim of this turrn is to find a new settlement, get rid of mind/body dichotomy. Feminists hope to on the one hand, avoid the inability of linguistic constructivism when facing social reality, and on the other hand, emphasize the matter as a kind of agency that taking part in parctics. In Latour’s words, it is the exploring to the Middle Kingom. This ontology turn is in progress now, and the coherent theory has not completed. But the core ideal is clear. It includs a turn from epistomolgy to ontology, refusing mind/body dichotomy, thinking much of materila, and understanding the science in practices and realities. From the deep discussion of the traditional topic of feminism-body, feminsists have found the root of the social/culture dichotomy, that is flesh/spirit dichotomy of human being. All these achievement will provide us a better ground to make further studies of feminism and philosophy of science.
