Radiometric calibration is a foundational step for quantitative analysis of remote sensingdata. The purpose of radiometric calibration is to describe the radiometric performance ofimaging system quantitatively. In this dissertation, a digital photogrammetric airborne cameraADS40was calibrated in the Song Shan photogrammetry and remote sensing calibration testfield. The theory, flow and method of radiometric calibration of digital photogrammetric airbornecamera applied in a test field were mainly studied. According to the linear response feature ofdigital sensors, a linear model was used for the absolute calibration of ADS40camera, and theradiometric performance of ADS40was evaluated and verified. The main work of thisdissertation is listed as follows.1.The necessity and feasibility of test-field-based radiometric calibration for aerial digitalphotogrammetric camera were analyzed. A radiometric calibration workflow and method basedon a test field was designed. And furthermore, some suggestions for the construction of theradiometric calibration test field were given.2.The digital photogrammetric airborne camera ADS40was calibrated in a test field bythe method of aerial and ground synchronal observation. And then, the calibration parameterswere measured, the accuracy of the results was estimated, and the causes of errors were analyzed. The experimental results indicated that the quality of reference target and atmosphere was themain influencing element to the calibration.3.The radiometric performance of ADS40camera was analyzed quantitatively, and suchaspects as linear quality, dynamic range and sensitivity of imaging CCD and so on was evaluated. The experimental results showed that the camera could response to signals linearly, the dynamicrange in panchromatic band was higher than that in the multispectral bands, and moreover, thesensitivity of the sensor in panchromatic band was approximately three times higher than that inthe multispectral bands.4.Based on the radiometric calibration model, a test-field-based calibration program wasdeveloped for digital photogrammetric airborne camera. The program can compute suchelements as equivalent reflectance, calibration parameters, observation RMSE, calibrationparameter RMSE and so on, and thus, greatly improves the efficiency of test-field-basedradiometric calibration.
