Hailaer basin in the prospecting area of Daqing Oil Field, as the one ofmost petroliferous basin in newly developed area, is widely concerned byexplorationist and trade continuously these years. Huhehu depression, whichthe degree of prospecting is lower, is one of the surrounding basins ofDaqing Oil Field, and some oil and gas was been detected, which shows thatthe resources potentialityHuhehu depression is one of the important secondary sags in Hailar Basin, and there exist in this depression two sets of coal-bearing source rocks, namely Damoguaihe Formation and Nantun Formation, which have excellenthydrocarbon-generating conditions and can be regarded as effective coalmeasure source rocks. According to the information about the oil feature inchemistry, and basing on the oil-source correlation in the studied area, we cantake the conclutiong: the oil coud come from the source rocks of Nantun group, and partly that of Damohe group too.Based on a comprehensive evaluation of coal measure source rocks inthis depression, it is easily found that the potential of source rocks in Huhehudepression, whose sedimentary environment is belong to swamp-freshwaterand lake. The organic matter type is mainly of the type III and II2. and a smallamount of II1. There are large differences among the formations and the fields, and the two depressions in the north an the south are the key areas in ourexlploration. The petroleum potential have been calculated by using the approach ofbasin modeling with the three-dimensional modeling and simulation system. The results show that the petroleum potential of mudstone is about1.717×1012t. The thickness of the coal seam is around120meters on average; thekerogen of coal measure source rocks is mainly of type Ⅲ, belonging to gas inclining source rocks; the maturity of the source rocks is mainly at theimmature-low mature stage, with Ro, mostly between0.3%and0.9%. Thetotal amount of coal-formed gas generated is1.6897×1012m3in thisdepression, which is very favorable for exploration and development.
