Ozone depletion and ground-level ozone pollution, as a serious problem, have fixedthe attention of all mankind, ozone observations and calculations are the crucial methodsof grasping the amount of ozone hence take proper measures. The first part applied the method of C++embed Python to illustrate the spatial andtemporal distribution of ozone concentration characteristic, analyzed the spatial andtemporal distribution and changes, combined with geographical factors of ozone overthe United States, and the data are from the July of1988. It proved that the ozoneconcentrations over the United States far exceeded the standard, as the latitude rise theozone levels rise correspondingly, and there are varieties of fluctuations in differentobserve-staions, the severest pollution located especially in the eastern coastal areaswhere several metropolitans accumulated. The second part narrow the study area to the Houston area inTexas, applied thespatial analysis of ArcGIS, studied the relationships between the excessive amount ofozone pollution and a variety of emissions of ozone precursor, the major precursorsincluding nitrogen oxides (NOx) and volatile organic compounds (VOC). It proved noclear correlation between the excessive ozone and NOx, VOC emissions; while there arehigh ozone exceeding records in the area of forest, marsh and grassland vegetation types, which proved that large area of vegetation can increase ozone pollution; point source onthe highway had higer records of ozone exceeded hours than points is beyond highway, demonstrated that road had certain influence of the excessive ozone.
