Many electronic equipment and various antennas exist on modern warships,so the electromagnetic environment is very complex. With the developmentof science and technology, the warships need to be confronted with differentkinds of intentional electromagnetic interference, an important interference ofwhich is electromagnetic pulse weapon. These high power electromagneticpulses not only disturb and damage the electronic and telecommunicationsystems on the ship platforms, but also cause electromagnetic radiation injuryto the human body on the warship by the large amount of electromagneticenergy, which can be absorbed by human body. High power electromagneticradiation of different frequency have different effects on human body, fromslight symptom of skin fever, nerve ache, to serious symptom of mentaldisorder, heart failure, burn and even dying. Therefore, it is very important toresearch electromagnetic energy absorption and distribution the human bodyin the cabin and on the deck of warship under high power electromagneticpulse illumination, which can be used to provide enough electromagnetic shielding and protection. Therefore, this paper did systematic and deep research on the mechanismand corresponding simulation method of the interaction between human bodyand typical structures of cabin and deck. The principal research work andinnovation in this paper are shown below:1. Propose a novel dielectric conformal FDTD method, which adoptmagnetic mesh weighted area to acquire effective parameters on themesh edges;2. According to the conformal mesh, modify the calculation formula ofSAR in the conformal meshes and make the calculation results onthe boundary of dielectric curved surface more accurate;3. Demonstrate the novel dielectric conformal FDTD method isaccurate and efficient in SAR calculation by numerical verificationexamples;4. Apply the dielectric conformal FDTD method on the human body inthe cabin of warship, and research the human body SAR distributionunder electromagnetic pulse illumination of different amplitudes, incident directions, and polarization directions.
