As an important part of the information society, the digital earth and digital city developrapid,3D city model is also playing an more and more important part in all walks of life. Therefore how to build3D models quickly and efficiently is the problem that Surveying andMapping industry must to be solved. The rapid development of LiDAR technology on3Dreconstruction provides a reliable source of data. Because of its excellent properties on3D,LiDAR data plays am increasingly important role in the3D reconstruction. This paper studies on generating and reconstructing Digital Surface Model in urban areasbased on LiDAR data. There are three contents and contributions in the process of DSM reconstruction:First, propose an interpolation method with taking surface feature properties intocount. In the process of interpolating this method considers the classification of points cloud, and the characteristics of building hierarchy. The second calculation ensures the reliability ofinterpolation results. Avoid the tilt of building wall caused by interpolation.Second, realize the identification of buildings by dealing with the points cloud beforeinterpolating with the swath algorithm in the pilot areas, then separating building points groupwell. So that the results of building edge extraction has the label information, and make itconvenient for further research.Third, realize building boundary normalized by approaching the edge of building basedon polygon fitting. On this basis, the reconstructed DSM has clear boundary, and eliminatesthe “jagged” effect of building boundary effectively. In a word, this paper achieves the DSM reconstruction without any assistance data, andthe method posed is effective.
