Saussurea iodostegia Hance belongs to the Saussurea genus of Compositae, which is a perennial herbs and distributing hillside meadows, mountain meadow, forest edge and salt marshes, located in Shanxi,Hebei,Inner Mongolia,Liaoning,Jilin,Heilongjiang,Shananxi,Ningxia,Gansu and other places. The content of MDA,proline contents, solube sugar contents, protein content, chlorophyll content andenzymatic activity of SOD etc of Saussurea iodostegia Hance which from the easternof Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau was measured. At the same time,we explore thePhysiological and Biochemical characteristics in different temperature,to providemore theoretical evidence to classification and the case of comprehensivedevelopment and utilization of Saussurea DC. To further evidence the species in thealpine region of the physiological significance of adaptation to provide a theoreticalbasis。The result shows that:1. The content of MDA、proline and soluble sugar are higher than the controltemperature. It shows that the physiological characteristic of the plant was adaptivelyadjusted for resisting the injury of low temperature stress.2. Soluble protein content rised and then decreased with decreasing temperature, the content of soluble protein is higher in the4℃and15℃than in the25℃,andlower in the0℃than in the25℃. changes unstable。3.Three kinds of protective enzymes,SOD and POD are more sensitive to lowtemperature, the highest value of the SOD and POD activity appears earlier. In thelow temperature, the highest enzyme of CAT ocuurred relatively late. It shows thatSOD and POD palyed a positive role on pretecting the plant against low temperaturestress.4. As the important factor of Photosnthesis, chlorophyll content decreased withtemperature decreasing,It shows that the photosynthesis of the plant was effectedby low temperature stress.
