The research on electromagnetic scattering of random rough surface is a hot point, for it’s widely used in military、remote sensing of the environment、astronomy fields. This article works for the research on the relevant points electromagnetic scattering ofrough surface by the analytical method.First of all, the paper introduces the basic knowledge which relevant to the analyticalmethod, such as Green functions and rough surface statistical characteristics. Secondly, giving detail solving processes of two-dimensional random rough surface based on thetraditional Kirchhoff approximation. Thirdly,Completing the calculation of scatteringintensity and derivation of one dimensional random rough surface. Lastly, studying therelevant points electromagnetic scattering of one-dimensional random rough surface usingimproved Kirchhoff approximation. The traditional Kirchhoff’s approximate method ignores the correlation of the heightand slope in calculation on the slope of the rough surface. In fact, in some specialconditions (the horizontal distance between the relevant points longer than the incidencewavelength and shorter than the related length), the correlation between them plays someimpact in scattering intensity. For one-dimensional Gauss rough surface, this paper using the traditional Kirchhoff’sapproximate method but considering the correlation of the height-height, height-slope,slope-slope, getting scattering intensity expressions and calculating the scattering intensitycontain the ignored parts in the past. Simulating in different conditions in order to findingout the differences and the changing rule.
