Lunar Microwave Sounder(LMS) onboard the “Chang’E-1” Lunar probe satellite isthe first passive sounder flying on lunar orbit. CELMS has four channels:3G,7.8G,19.35Gand37GHz.Retrieval of lunar regolith depth and other characters by accessing fourchannel microwave brightness-temperature (TB) is one of CELMS’s scientific purpose.CELMS had already covered lunar surface for several times, during the period, hugescientific data were collected, which can cover nearly the full Moon. By analyzing thecollected data, researchers can get the information of regolith depth, landform, mineralcontent and other information, which is very important to human lunar project.Based on the lunar surface microwave transfer model established by HUST, modelparameters selection and its influence to TB was discussed, full Moon TB was simulatedand compared with the sounded data by CELMS. According to CELMS data, full LunarTB variation trend was analyzed. Because simulated data and sounded data were not agreewell, statistics analysis method was introduced to deal with the sounded data, therelationship between subsurface effective emissivity and regolith depth was calculatedusing simplified model. By using the dealt data and the above relationship, full lunarregolith depth was retrieved. Derived lunar regolith depth distribution trend is reasonable, derived Mar regolith depth value is approximate to reported data. Based on preciselymuti-layer model, the relationship between lunar surface dielectric constant and CELMSsounded data was constructed, it is showed that37G channel simulated data and soundeddata can agree well using this relationship. Full Lunar dielectric constant was retrieved byusing37G channel Simulated data and sounded data on eve and constraint optimizationsearch method, derived result is approximate to reported data.
