Through simply changing terrain of the Tibetan Plateau in CommunityAtmosphere Model(CAM), this study compare and analyze the impact of theplateau on the East Asian monsoon in the month and pentad scale.Tibetan Plateau strengthened the thermal difference between land and sea andchanged the high and low level general circulation,and the characteristics of theAsian monsoon. Experiment results show that,deviated regional in precipitation andwind figures are concentrated in the plateau region and the area of same latitude inMay. Sensible heat and latent heat make Tibetan Plateau become the heating centerof East Asia in summer and its intensity and scope are greater than the center ofno-plateau experiment. The South Asian high are strengthened on the west side of theplateau and weakened on the east. The subtropical high are wester. It is more obviousin pentad mean figure that summer monsoon happen earlier in Tibetan Plateauexperiment than no Tibetan Plateau experiment. Because the existence of the plateaustrengthened the middle and high-latitude notherly winds,sub-tropical monsoonrainfall is earlier than the tropical in the south region. With the south-west wind andwater vapor expanding to northern China,summer precipitation increases in this area.Since early July, the rainfall of plateau experiment decease and last longer.Meanwhile, since there are less latent heat and more southerly air flow,the positionof337.5oK pseudo-equivalent temperature line change little. The changes of rainfallmakes the Western Pacific subtropical High westward,which also change thedistribution of monsoon rainfall along coastal areas over north China in Tibetanexperiment.In month and pentad scale,CAM model can accurately simulate the East Aisan summer monsoon and precipitation in eastern China. And it helps to study how theweather systems evolve with the impact of Tibetan Plateau in pentad scale...
