The Irrawaddy basin is geographically central lowlands between India and Burma mountains and the China-Burma Mountains, in the Chindwin River, Irrawaddy basin.Irrawaddy basin north and south about than1600km from east to west width of150-200km, an area of about25.2×104km2(D block1.2×104km2). Irrawaddy basin there is something sub-band blocks north and south of the characteristics of the basin can be divided into three primary tectonic units:the western deep-Au district, central uplift and eastern shallow Au district.Many large oil field in the basin, the western side of the distribution, including Manny, La Niwa, more Taliban, Yan On Jiangyou Tian and other existing largest oilfield found in sandstone reservoir section is mostly distributed in the Miocene and Oligocene, and generally shallow layer. Sinopec after the pre-field exploration and summary of the existing data for oil and gas exploration work in the block already has a wealth of knowledge, and the newly discovered Eocene reservoir-seal assemblages for the block. The prospects for oil and gas exploration and full of hope.D block has good geological conditions of hydrocarbon accumulation, the group Kabbah, Langxin group, The ratio of sand is high in the main reservoir, mostly has lower permeability, classification belong to low porosity-chiefly low permeability reservoirs. There are also high-gap reservoir development in some layers; Mudstone strata developed in the Tower group and PengDang formation. In the two major tectonic belt, There were developed continuous and stable cap rock and several sets of reservoir combination. Moreover, fault nose and anticline traps are found.In order to find the block oil and gas reservoir characteristics, especially oil and gas sources, preferably favorable exploration targets and target areas, and provide recommendations for further exploration deployment. In view of this, we design the subject of organic geochemical characteristics and oil and gas source correlation of source rocks of the D block in Myanmar.In this paper, we have studied the distribution characteristics of three sets of source rocks at the D block in Myanmar and its surrounding. What’s more, we have analysis and studied the source rock samples under the criteria of source rock evaluation in block, and obtained all kinds of value such as the abundance of organic matter, organic matter type and the evolution parameters of the geochemical characteristics of source rock. These results indicate that the Langxin group are middle level source rocks in the western outcrop area, the organic matter type belong to Ⅲ~Ⅲ and high maturity of organic matter.It is a high-quality raw rock. The bottom of Tower group is dark mudstone, it belong to middle source rocks in criteria, the upper of Tower group is coal-bearing strata, the organic matter belong to type Ⅲ and in low mature-mature stage, it is a gas source rock. The upper coal measure strata is in lower maturity period but has ability to generate large amounts of condensate and natural gas.Basing on the analysis of D Block and its surrounding gas Characteristics, isotopic, crude oil composition of the hydrocarbons as well as light hydrocarbon characteristics,we made a future analysis of the crude oil and oil sands extract biomarkers characteristic.At last,we studied the oil and source rock correlation combining with the sample characteristics of biomarkers from source rock.According to the research results mentioned above, the causes of generation of oil and gas at the D block in Myanmar were very complex, it may emplaced from sets of source rocks which belong to different periods and renew adjusted in the later. The oil and gas accumulations include natural gas, condensate, normal mixed crude oil. Thus the main source of up plate of shallow oil and gas came from normal mature crude oil of the group Langxin (LA) and shallow water-lakes mudstone strata, there are also a small amount of tower coal measure strata in the formation of low maturity condensate mixed. While, down plate mainly contains low maturity nature gas and condensate oil which from coal measure strata of the TA group.
