With economic development, human demand for energy continues to grow witheach passing day, so it is necessary to develop energy and increase capacity.Petroleum and natural gas for the country has very important strategic significance, itis to ensure national energy security and the most important foundation, so the oil andgas exploration in various energy development occupies a very important position.Fault detection and identification is one of the most important basis for the workin the oil and gas exploration. Faults could play a role in the formation of traps in thestorage of oil and gas preservation, but also could adjust the oil and gas, and evendestroy the oil and gas reservoirs. Fault has an essential impact in the oil and gasaccumulation. Traditionally, fault interpretation method is through vertical seismicprofiles and time slices and portfolio analysis in the plane to achieve faultinterpretation. Due to subjective factors, the reliability and accuracy of this methodare not satisfactory, and the work efficiency is relatively low.If we want to improve the efficiency and reliability of the fault interpretation,then they would have enhanced the discontinuity of the seismic data. All individualants in the ant colony algorithm can work independently to complete the task inlimited random conditions of all nodes in the search problem space, essentiallyspeaking, these features is actually the characteristics of an efficient and stable parallel algorithm, also has a strong parallel and distributed computing power, whichmakes the ant colony algorithm can be applied to modern computer technology. Theymake it capable of solving ability that requires a lot of computation. Ant colonyalgorithm used in the choice of path is a random probability of the ant colonyalgorithm to avoid premature convergence caused by a local optimum, which is theoptimization algorithm is more difficult to avoid the problem, so the ant colonyalgorithm also has a strong space search capabilities. The nature of ant colonyalgorithm is a complex intelligent system has strong robustness. Ant colony algorithmhas the advantage of the full combination of fault detection problem, you can achieveeffective suppression of noise and improve the efficiency and reliability.In this thesis, through the study of improved ant colony algorithm,3D seismicdata coherence computation, it highlight the fault response, then it complete anttracking for the coherent data volume, finally get the fault tracking results. This paperfocuses on the problem of fault detection techniques, improved fault detection methodbased on ant colony algorithm, mainly made from the following aspects:1.It has done depth study of the ant colony algorithm and its applications, andsummarized the basic principle of ant colony algorithm, the implementation process,and studied ant colony algorithm for fault detection algorithm,also improved theestimation method of the block orientation field.2. By using coherence cube as a fault attribute, it use ant colony algorithm forprocessing fault seismic data, and have carried out a detailed study of the algorithm.
