Fluvial reservoir plays an important role in petroleum industry of our country. Fluvial reservoir geological reserves of crude oil has been developed in China accounted for46.2%of original oil in place. Thus, Based on time constrained modeling, applying a random walk method for reservoir modeling could make the best of its random feature and forecast characteristics to confirm river channel morphology in space and the distribution principle of channel sand, especially in the case of limited geological data. Consequently, it is significant for expanding the ideas of geologists and guiding the exploration and development of oil and gas field. This dissertation puts emphases on the applications of self-avoid random walk algorithms on the fluvial reservoir modeling ststem. Meanwhile, the influence of lithofacies of wells on random walk fluvial reservoir modeling, for instance, the attracting interactions between river channel wells, the excluding interactions between non-river channel wells,is investigated further. On the basis of the research above, modeling the reservoir combing with the geological conditions, such as the principal direction constraint, the simulated geological constraint. The two parts of which the Reservoir Modeling System consists are the2D modeling system written in C#and the3D modeling system developed by Visual C++. The whole of the system adopts modular object-oriented as its design philosophy and is implemented with objective oriented programming languages. Finally, the actual data using a field verification of improved self-avoiding random walk algorithm to simulate the application of the reservoir. The results show that weight-based self-avoiding random walk algorithm is effective. The results are in accord with diagrams drawn by geology expert. Thus, the algorithm is reasonable.
