Jiangling depression in the southwest of Jianghan Basin which is in the middle Yangtze region, is the most sedimentary depression in the ancient Tertiary of Jianghan Basin, is an area of6500square kilometers. It belongs to the Mesozoic-Cenozoic rift basin. Since ancient times, it have features with tectonic framework of the basin showing something block north and south after several tectonic movement, that Wancheng. Fracture bounded basin structure is divided into two relatively independent unit, east of the Wancheng fault was the tectonic pattern of the two hollow one Long slopes; to the west, compared with a depression and a long tectonic framework. Purpose district is the west region of the Wancheng fault, which rise in the plate of the Wancheng fault, the research area is925square kilometers.Jiangling depression metamorphic and sedimentary rocks as a substrate (in which the metamorphic rocks becomes from the Upper Archean to Proterozoic,and sedimentary rocks belongs to the the Sinian Jurassic), it has sedimented a set of meters of thickness of continental clastic through these two major tectonic rift such as faulted and depression and six evolution stages. From bottom to top, respectively the Cretaceous Luo mirror Beach group, honghuatao group, Happy Valley Gang group, Paleogene ShashiKwong Wah Temple group, the Xingouzui Jingsha group, Qianjiang group, Jinghe town group, Upper Tertiary and Quaternary strata. The purpose layer of this study is the the Cretaceous Honghuatao group, that formation lithology is mainly brick-red thick-bedded to massive fine-grained sandstone, muddy siltstone and bottom of the folder to see in the upper part of a gravel-like sandstone.The study area was in the leading edge of plateau in the Cretaceous period, and it surrounds plateau or mountain, north of its was the ancient Qinling and Dabieshan, Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau was in the southwest, south of its was the ancient Nanling Mountains, China Mountain was in the southeast; the west of its was the Paleo-Tethyssea; the east of its was the ocean, thus forming a mountain, plateau and separated by ocean,inland basins and arid climate conditions, that the same background with the formation of the Taklimakan Desert. Therefore, the geographical environment and climatic conditions, let us think the study area have the same formation of desert conditions. In the arid climate of the basin background, flowing water have a decisive impact on the formation of deposits. Therefore, the desert environment, the main controlling factors of the formation Causes of climatic factors.In this paper, according to the drilling core, curve data, analyzing testing data and others basic data, applying to the theories and studies of high resolution stratigraphy, drilling geology, sedimentary, reservoir geology and petroleum geology, the paper has mainly studied stratigraphic division and correlation, analyzing of sedimentary microfacies, tectonic, and evaluations and prediction of favorable reservoir for the Jiangling depression Wancheng fault fracture increased disk Honghuatao group. And the paper mainly achieved the following main knowledge and conclusions:First of all, applying to the sequence stratigraphy theory, studying through the outcrop sequence stratigraphy, drilling sequence stratigraphy, seismic sequence stratigraphy, combing by the well seismic, completing the division and correlation of strata.Secondly, having a comprehensive analysis of the regional geological background by outcrop observation and core observation, studying strata colors, the combination of lithology, sandstone and mineral composition, the sand grain size characteristics, sand surface features, paleontological assemblages, sedimentary and tectonic features on the basis, the paper identifies the types of sedimentary facies and establishs a well logging and seismic phase. And after comprehensive analysing outcrops relative to core phase, well logging and seismic phase, the paper identifies the types of sedimentary facies of the study area and establishes a sedimentary facies model.Again,the paper completes3-D seismic interpretation of the purpose layer of the study area by horizon calibration on the basis of the subdivision of the strata.Finally, having the sedimentary facies model as a guide, on the basis of seismic interpretation, through seismic inversion, dissecting the reservoir architectural of the reservoirs of the Honghuatao Group, combing with sedimentary facies research, the paper forecasts the regional exhibition of sandstone.
