The ecological environment of the Loess Plateau is more vulnerable than the other regions and geological hazards have occurred frequently because of a variety of induced factors, so it is significant that we have taken Yongshou country as a typical area of the prevention of geological hazards and have a deep analysis. On the basis of the relevant data collection and detailed investigation of the field, geological hazards are recorded. Then using the the spatial analysis of the software ArcGIS, we have analyzed the development characteristics and evaluated the susceptibility of geological hazards. Mainly including the following aspects:1. Characteristics of geological hazards in Yongshou CountryBased on the detailed investigation of geological hazards, we have analyzed and summarized that the main geological hazards in Yongshou Country are collapses, landslides, ground clllapses and ground fissures. These geological hazards have evident spatial and temporal distribution characteristics. They are consistent with or lag behind continuous rain or rainstorm. Besides, geological hazards show some of regularitiy affected by the river, rain and human engineering activities etc.2. Stability of typical individual landslideBasic characteristics, formation mechanism and assessment of stability of individual landslide (Xishan Slpoe, Yongshoufang Slope and Dongzhelou Slope etc.) in Yongshou country show that most loess landslides are in a approximately stable state. Once affected by induced factors it will lead to the occurrence of new landslides or the revive of the old landslides.3. Regionalization of geo-hazards susceptibilityThe disaster characteristic, the basic factor and induced factor are selected as three calculation indicators of the regionalization, which are furtherly divided into eight elements, are given weights by means of Analytical Hierarchy Process. At the same time, the information values of different elements are obtained by the information method in ArcGIS platform. By combining the weights and the values, the study area are divided into the high susceptibility zone, the middle susceptibility zone, the low susceptibility zone and non-susceptibility zone, and the geo-hazard susceptibility map could be generated at last. The evaluation showed:the high susceptibility zone in Yongshou country is mainly distributed along the highroad Fuyin. The middle susceptibility zone is distributed along Jin river, Sancha river, Moxi river, Qishui river and the anabranches of them. The low susceptibility zone is mainly distributed in the loess broken plateau and Mountain Ridge area between the rivers. Part of the non-susceptibility zone lies at Loujing Mountain and Wufeng Mountain, the rest is distributed in the relatively flat region of Loess Mountain Ridge Area in the northern Yongshou Country.
