4XX system is designed for land seismic data acquisition by Sercel,a French company, it has huge storage capacity、high reliability, including408UL and428XL, two sets of systems.428XL is updated from408UL,and can be compatible with408UL.4XX system takes advantage of the concept of intranet, the core Point is using the concept of compute node in the seismic net, In the spread, LAU, REM, LRU take the role of router, the recording system (server) take the role of control center node. Under the control of special software, the system fulfills seismic devices arrangement and seismic data acquisition.In the system of408UL, the seismic data can only be recorded either in tape or in NAS, accompany with the progress of seismic technology, the acquired data become much more and more, from early10mega bytes to nearly hundreds of mega bytes now, to record those data to a tape is much slowly than to a NAS, especially to be noticed, magnetic tape is strictly limited by the environment, such as the temperature and humidity.428XL make a progress on this point, seismic data can be synchronously recorded in both of tape and NAS. But it has a fault when carry out a3D survey if we want to use the tape to record the data, because it doesn’t support such operation style that several bands data acquisition at same time in the field, which restricts the boost of labor efficiency seriously. If we use only the NAS system, obviously, we have to face the increase of risk of the data loss.4XX system is a total net system. These controlling units are all nodes in this net, and have been installed the TCP/IP protocol, in this seismic net, the acquired data can be recorded in any device only if it is attached in the net and be authorized.We have got used to hand in those seismic data by tape, but these days, many contractors directly claim that data should be handed in by moveable devices such as USB disk. As we all know, these moveable disk has more advantages in data transmission than tape. So, once finished one day’s work, operators must copy the seismic data from NAS to a USB disk at first, this procedure needs much time, especially in a3D project.This paper provides a method to synchronize recording seismic data in a moveable disk by using FTP mode in the4XX system, through a PC with FILEZILLA, a kind of FTP Server software. Attached the PC in4XX local net and be authorized, we can record seismic data to any moveable disk through the PC’s USB interface, like to a NAS. Then we can provide the contractor USB disk to check the data quality and to preprocess on time.Besides, we can provide another way to make insurance of the seismic data and even decrease the cost of subcontractor’s investment.
