Landslides mostly happen in the area of the mountain region of southwest China.Among them, debris flows are the most powerful and wide type, the energy they holdcan easily killed the people and destroy the facilities on their running way. Systematicacademic study of debris flows has decades of history, from the initial observation andanalysis, to build different theoretical models with entry points of different disciplines.Until the wave of IT today, the study of debris flows digital simulation rely on CS hasbecome a new frontier of the field of debris flows research. This article inspired by Cellular Automata (CA), customized the concept ofSpatial Cellular Automate (SCA) in allusion to the natural complex space phenomenasuch as debris flows. Studied its application in the model building of debris flowscomputer simulation, and combined with the more mature spatial information systemscience to discuss and design the solutions for debris flows dynamics simulationsystem based on SCA technology, to provide technical support for debris flowsforecast and early warning.Research through the following steps to achieve:(1) systematically analyzed theexisting theories and mechanistic models of debris flows, established the simulationtheoretical model based on SCA according to the characteristics of SCA technology;(2) rely on the SCA debris flows model, considering the reality of computer hardwareand software environment, designed and realized the program prototype which canrun the basic simulation functions;(3) discussed the realization of debris flowsdisaster GIS solution system, included the architecture design, operation flow planand the key points when we truly try to make the system come true. The result showed that:(1) SCA technology used in the debris flows simulationhas its feasibility and availability;(2) existing GIS architecture can organicallyintegrated to the SCA debris flows simulation technology, although it need tocustomize its spatial data manager and process functions;(3) the algorithm is the keyto guarantee the simulation accuracy, it is rely on the digitalization of the theoreticalideally, but the breakthrough of the fundamental research is much more important.
