Statics corrections are associated with data acquisition, data processing, andinterpretation of the sections produced. Reflection times often are affected byirregularities in the near-surface which made the reflections significantly depart fromregular hyperbolic move-out. Although such distortions can be caused by a structuralcomplexity deeper in the subsurface, more often they result from near-surfaceirregularities. The rapid changes in elevation the base of weathering, and theweathering velocity account for the difficulty of statics correction. Correctionsapplied to seismic data to compensate for the effects of variations in elevation, weathering thickness, weathering velocity, or reference to a datum. The objective is todetermine the reflection arrival times which would have been observed if allmeasurements had been made on a flat plane with no weathering or low-velocitymaterial present. There are several statics correction method, datum statics correction, refraction staticscorrection, tomography statics correction and so on. According to the near-surfacecondition and seismic data of this project, tomography and refraction staticscorrection were applied, and each method was preformed by three kinds of software(Green mountain, omega, and seislab) to determine which method and which softwareis best suited for this area. Then analysis why this method can give better staticscorrections than other method. In this article, the long-wave and shot-wave staticscorrection was discussed separately.
