China is an earthquake-prone country. Earthquakes cause significant loss of lives and property. The development of database and geographic information technology provides important technical support for data management and analysis in earthquake relief. Information mining from the massive data such as basic geographic data, remote sensing image data, socio-economic data, seismic case data and seismic thematic data is an important issue for the earthquake relief.The ontology has many advantages in addressing the heterogeneous data. In recent years, ontology technology has developed into an important technology in the aspects of knowledge representation, knowledge management, knowledge sharing and knowledge reuse. This paper adopted ontology technology to resolve earthquake-source collaboration. This paper also settled up the domain ontology library, finished semantic representation of knowledge and concepts of earthquake-source data, and built a knowledge base based on the relationship between data characteristics and data application requirements. Eventually this paper achieved collaborative data search and intelligent data reasoning base on jena reasoner.This study includes:1. Design and construction of a multi-source database of the earthquakeLarge commercial relational database and spatial database engine technology were used in the database construction. The database achieved storage and management of socio-economic data, seismic case data, remote sensing data, earthquake thematic data, documents etc.2. Design and construction ontologyCombined with the deep research in this area, the experts’ guidance of the field and certain rules and methods of ontology construction, the ontology in this paper was divided five aspects:earthquake-earthquake rescue data types, data content, data format, data applications, rescue cases data, and application domain ontology construction.3. Knowledge base construction and intelligent reasoning based on the ontologyBase on the relationship between data properties and data applications, a knowledge base was constructed, which includes data optimal selection rules. This paper achieved data intelligent search based on the ontology and knowledge base.This paper researched on earthquake multi-source data collaborative search based on the ontology technology and finished the software development. This paper shown that, in a certain extent, the ontology could solve the problem of data retrieval. The ontology has been greatly improved data precision and recall rate compared with the traditional approach of data retrieval, which will bring convenience to the practical application.
