Recently, photonic crystal has become a considerable research field of photonics. Thereare lots of physical phenomenon, which is similar with the electronic semiconductor, inphotonic crystal. Photonic crystal have photonic gaps analogous to the electronic bandstructure in a solid, and the propagation of electromagnetic waves are forbidden in thephotonic band gap(PBG). Photonic crystals are effective to control photon. There are widepossibilities to use PCs for optoelectronic devices. Photonic crystals also attracted manyexpectss to conduct the thorough research to it.The photonic band gap and opticaltransmission spectra of photonic crystal can easily be modulated through the ways ofchanging the dielectric constant or geometry structure and doping defects. Inmicro-electromechanical systems and nano electromechanical systems, the continuedminiaturization of the device has caused a constantly strengthened quantum effect. Somepeople also studied the transmission spectra of 1D PCs with a mirror symmetry. But theydidn’t consider the influence of uniaxial stress and doping negative refractive index materialon transmission spectra.Compared to the research ideas of piezoresistive effect, the optical transmission ofphotonic crystals with negative refractive index material are studied by transfer-matrixmethod. we have studied the optical transmission spectra of a type of one-dimensionalphotonic crystals with a mirror symmetry index PC under different uniaxial stress.(1) The paper gives a introduction to photonic crystals including the concept of the basicprinciples, theory, research methods and preparation methods and its application prospects. The paper also gives a introduction to negative refractive index material and negativerefractive index photonic crystal.(2) Through the analysis of the basic theory of photonic crystals, the optical transmissionof this kind photonic crystals are studied by transfer-matrix method. The present paper theordinary one-dimensional photonic crystals transfer-matrix method will carry on thededuction to revise, infers has been suitable in the negative refraction material theone-dimensional photonic crystals.(3) A type of one-dimensional photonic crystals with a mirror symmetry ( AB )1 0(B A)10isdesigned. The optical transmission spectra of negative refractive index one-dimensionalphotonic crystals with a mirror symmetry is studied by transfer-matrix method after revised.Contrast and simulate the optical transmission spectra of positive- positive index photoniccrystal and positive-negative index photonic crystal under different uniaxial stress. We get thechange of the transmission peak in the center. Finally, a meso-piezoptic coefficient wasintroduced to quantify meso-piezoptic effects. In summary, this paper studies a type of one-dimensional photonic crystals with a mirrorsymmetry, makes an analysis and calculation of the transmissiom conditions in the case of thestrained ,which is so-called mesoscopic piezophotonic effect.
