Karst is a heavy to the railway engeering. Such as the karst water hit, the roof of the limestone cave collapse and the large scale of surface subsidence and more, which is a so important engeering geologe problem in the railway construction. Because of the engineering destructive and the difficulty to foresight of the karst ground collapse in these areas that the railway line is through, the high speed railway will get a huge losses. With the development of the economy, in the karst area that linear engeering just like the high-speed railway can not avoid,karst problem will be more obvious.Firstly, according to the live investigation, sampling to the karst of the research area and the deep investigation to the collapsed area and the analysis from each side of soil, rock and groundwater, we can know the grouth condition that the researched area has to depend on for its’collapse and have been sure of the collapse characteristic of the research area. It provides us the basis to research thoroughly the formation mechanism of the karst collapse in the research area.Secondly, according to collecting the research data of the railway in karst area and highway engeering, we have gotten a further knowledge of the formation mechanism of the karst collapse. And combine the lithologic features of the karst ground subsidence in research area and the hydrogeological features as well as the weather conditions it is in. We can easily analyse the formation mechanism of the karst collapse in the research area and the karst collapse mode. According to the Yungui railway along the route and the grouth feature of the soil hole in underground and combine the soil properties in the research area. Use the method of numerical simulation to have the soil cave collapse simulation analysis.Finally, passage has discussed the engineering protecting countermeasures we should take to deal with the karst ground collapse with different features,which provides us recommended practice of karst design and construction.
