Since the middle of20th century, rare-earth luminescent materials have been widely applied in the fields of lighting display, adornment signal, safe transportation, etc. The red luminescent materials Y2O3:Eu3+and Y2O2S:Eu3+have been paid much attention for the high brightness and good chemical stability. In this paper, Y2O3:Eu3+and Y2O2S:Eu3+,Mg2+,Ti4+was synthesized via surfactant assisted, and the red luminescent materials with excellent stability and luminescent property were prepared. Effects of ion exchange, sintering temperature, heating rate, PH value, reaction time, concentration of SDS on the morphology and luminescent property of Y2O3:Eu3+were investigated by changing the synthesis conditions and the ratio of raw materials. After a series of experiments, the optimal reaction conditions were obtained. Influence of microstructure on luminescent property of the samples was studied, and the luminescent mechanism was also discussed. The difference of the surfactant-assisted method and conventional high temperature solid-phase reaction method on the morphology and luminescent property of Y2O2S:Eu3+,Mg2+,Ti4+was discussed in detail. The luminescent materials were characterized by means of XRD, SEM, PL, and TL. The results indicated that compared with the samples obtained by the conventional high temperature solid-state method, the optimum synthesis temperature of the samples prepared by the surfactant-assisted method decreased by200~300℃. The luminescent properties of the samples prepared by the two methods were similar. Morphology of the samples was affected by introduction of surfactant SDS. The luminescent mechanism of the samples was also discussed.
