We mainly studied the morphological structure of the skin, the structure and function of the skin sense receptors, the similarity of the skin sense receptors and birds feathers. We observed the shape and distribution of the skin pigment and skin sense receptors, the microstructures of the skin and skin sense receptor, the distribution of nerve endings and the expression of several proteins in the skin of Phrynocephalus przewalskii by the micrographic technique and scanning electron-microscopy technique, the serial section cutting technique, the silver-plating staining and the immunohistochemical method. These are results:(1) The skin pigment cells of Phrynocephalus przewalskii mainly distribute in the dorsal body. The skin pigment cells have multiple projections in the shape of radiation, and the ventral skin pigment cells are rare.(2) In different parts of Phrynocephalus przewalskii, scales are different in shape, size and thickness, and the number of the skin sense receptor in the scales is different. Scales of the head and the tail are thicker, and the skin sense receptors in the scales are more than other parts. Scales of the abdomen are flat, and the skin sense receptors in the scales are more than other parts.(3) The sensory nerve fiber endings located in the dermis shallow layer, dermis and subcutaneous tissue.(4) The skin sense receptor, bird feathers and mammals hairs are similar in some levels.(5) There are some immunohistochemistry results. PCNA, SP and P63mainly expressed in the germinal layer and the skin sense receptor. The expression in the dermis is scattered. FN and LN mainly expressed in the capillary wall and the infra-fibers. The above-mentioned showed the process of Phrynocephalus przewalskii’s ecdysis, studied the sensory nerve endings’ distribution in the skin of Phrynocephalus przewalskii, provided scientific proof to explore the function of the skin sense receptor and the homology of feathers and the skin sense receptor of reptiles.
