On Optimal Allocation Of Redundancies To Series And Parallel Systems

In this paper we introduce a model which considers the problem of optimal allocation of two redundant components in case of series and parallel systems of two components. This model assumes that all the components are dependent and only one redundancy is assigned to the specified component. Using joint stochastic orders, we show sufficient conditions for the optimal reliability under the usual stochastic order between systems with active and standby allocations.
