Our country started introducing the PDC bit at the beginning of the1980s.To1990s, major domestic oilfields started using PDC bit, and achieved good results. Inrecent years, the PDC bit also has been widely used in geological drilling industry, itis mainly used for drilling in soft to medium hard homogeneous strata, and notsuitable for drilling hard strata. Through a wide range of applications, the drillingefficiency of PDC bit is much higher than that of the impregnated bit andconventional carbide bit, the geological prospecting staff favor of the outstandingperformance of PDC bit. Therefore, in recent years, domestic and foreign drillingworkers began to gradually study of the optimal structure and optimal tootharrangement design of the cutting teeth of PDC bit in different strata, to make PDC bitgive better service to geological drilling industry.PDC cutter is the basic cutting unit of PDC bit, the quality of its structuralperformance has a decisive influence on the drilling effects of PDC bit. At home andabroad has always attached great importance to the study of the new cutter, and hasdeveloped a variety of new products using the different forms of cutter, therepresentative are double-edged cutter, pre-chamfered edge-strengthen cutter, cuttercovered protective layer and composite structure cutter and so on. Workingperformance of these cutters with special morphological structure has improvedsignificantly when using under certain conditions.This article Mainly from the perspective of bionics geological drilling with PDCcutter and drill conducted research.More systematic summary of analysis of soilanimals in the East mole cricket claw toe,the ingenious application of biologicalprinciples of soil animals mole cricket claw toe in the PDC bit cutting tooth design.By the simulation module in the software Solidworks static analysis to come to thePDC bionic cutting teeth anglegenerally between50°-70°is more appropriate. Ifedge angle is too large,it is not enough to eat into the depth of the stratum affect thefootage rate, if edge angle is too small,it is to eat into the formation at the same time,between the teeth and the tooth strong enough in advance to the event of damage. so choose an appropriate angle conducive to drilling efficiency. According to previousexperience, a detailed study on PDC cutter to cut and drill the base body welding,PDC cutter in the appropriate angle, cutting three teeth and four teeth. The design ofthe parity teeth staggered distribution is used by bit, odd tooth cutting out the peaksand troughs justeven teeth of the valley and peak cutting in order to increase thevolume of broken rock.PDC bionic claw bit was tested in oil shale mining area in Songyuan. The testresults show that in the shale formation with dolostone, the footage efficiency ofconventional carbide bit is extremely slow and even slipping and has no footage. Andthe abrasion of cutter is so serious that almost change the bit once a round trip. Whilethe footage efficiency of PDC bionic claw bit is very high, its average rate ofpenetration is2.82meters one hour, two times higher than conventional carbide bit.And the bit’s life is as long as227meters, which can reduce the number of times ofchanging bit. The PDC bit, in a drilling can save about36hours of time and improvethe construction efficiency, which equivalent to improve value of15336yuan. It’sgreatly increase the overall efficiency for the construction unit.
