Looking through the general development trend of seismic prospecting all over theworld, we find that the development of seismic prospecting technology is very fast.First, with the development of seismic prospecting, the prospecting field is changingfrom land to sea, from area with simple earth’s surface to area with complex earth’ssurface; in order to adapt to the different prospecting fields and the complex surfaceconditions, the different seismic sources, geo-detectors and recording geometries willbe used during the seismic data acquisition, and this different will result in the badconsistency of seismic data. Second, the demand to figure out the regional tectoniccharacters and the population distribution is increasing during the oil and gasexploration, so to figure out the underground structure characteristic of the whole area,we need to carry out the large areas of three-dimensional seismic exploration, subjectto the capital limitations, now we can only through the tie-in processing of small areasdata with different acquisition time, and the consistency processing is very importantduring this procedure. Three, many new methods and technology appearing, such asthe4D seismic technology, the consistency processing is also very important when wecombine the new technology result with the normal processing result. Four, theconsistency processing is also required during the combination of seismic data andother type data, such as logging data. From the above, we can see that the research ofseismic data consistency processing is very meaningful.Now, there are mainly three seismic data consistency processing methods, they aretime shifting method, adjust deconvolution parameters method and matched filteringmethod. Each of these methods has its own merits, demerits and applicationconditions. This paper is mainly about the mutual equalization consistency processingmethod. This method is based on the matched filtering method; and it has twoimprovements, one is the binning homogenization of input data, this can realized notonly the consistency on frequency, amplitude and phase; but also the consistency onspace distribution. The other improvement is selecting the target data with the help oflogging data or VSP data so to make the final processing data better.There are mainly three steps of the mutual equalization consistency processingmethod, they are binning homogenization, consistency processing and consistencyevaluation. With the combination of practical project, the paper mainly made theresearch on the following aspects of the mutual equalization consistency processingmethod: the core technology (Winner filtering); binning equalization technology;selecting target data with VSP or logging data; different parameters, such as operatorlength, noise level and so on, which affecting the consistency processing result.Through the tests, we can find how these parameters affect the final consistencyprocessing result, then to guide the practical application of this consistency processingmethod. At the last, we applied this method (the mutual equalization consistencyprocessing method) to the practical project data of somewhere in XinJiang province,and obtained the better result.
