The urban rainstorm water logging disaster is becoming more serious, which affected by many factors, such as global warming and fast urbanization; the vulnerability of large cities in the defense of natural disasters is becoming clear. Water logging disaster warning and disaster risk assessment are the difficulty and emphases of the study on urban water logging disasters.In this study,GIS and SWMM models are used. On the base of rainstorm water logging in Zhengzhou city, water logging disasters is simulated which are in different stituation in Zhengzhou city, the risk of water logging is assessed in Zhengzhou city, the main results of this study are as follows:(1)Summarized the progress of the study of urban storm water logging, explained the methord of the study of water logging from the view of the formation mechanism of water logging and the major domestic and foreign water logging models(2)Used the GIS and SWMM models, built the rainstorm water logging model of Zhengzhou, checked the model with the practical rainstorm data, estimated the rainfall conditions in the different situtation of Zhengzhou city, including lasting time and depth of water logging and so on,the water logging simulation results show that: with the increasing of the rainfall returning period, the happening time of water logging node has been moved up, the lasting time of water logging is increased, the maximum flow rate and total flow also increased, and which brought deepening of the degree of water logging disasters for different returning periods of heavy rain,the city should take the appropriate corresponding measures.(3)Assessed the risk of rainstorm water logging of Zhengzhou city based on GIS spatial analysis techniques and used the water logging disaster risk assessment formula, Quantified the disaster inducing factors of rainstorm, divided the risk of rainstorm water logging and got the water logging risk analysis diagram of Zhengzhou city according to a certain level of risk of urban water logging. We can seen from the rainstorm water logging map that the risk of water logging disasters in Zhengzhou City, southeast is higher than the northwest of the old city is higher than urban areas, densely populated areas than in sparsely populated areas, economically less developed than in economically developed areas from the view of spatial characteristics.With the growth of rainstorm returning period,the range of risk-free zone and low-risk areas are narrowing,while the midium-risk areas and high-risk areas are expanding,the risk of urban logging disaster gradually increased from the view of the time characteristics.(4)The study of rainstorm water logging of Zhengzhou city based on GIS and SWMM models show that, the integration ues of GIS and SWMM models in a rainstorm water logging in Zhengzhou City, improved disaster early warning capability of the water logging and is of great significance in increasing the urban disaster prevention and mitigation capability.
