The main body of Huashan located at the junction site of Gongcheng county andZhongshan county, northeast Guangxi. It is the western section of the Nanling Mountains,is the main body of Yanshanian Huashan composite granite. Huashan is the place of thefirst piece of uranium ore was found,it is a great significance in the history of explorationand development of uranium resources in China, the region uranium exploration work isstill underway. In this paper the geological background, petrologic characteristics,petrological geochemistry characteristics and uranium mineralization characteristics ofHuashan granite has been systematically studied, discussed the petrogenesis type,summarized the basic characteristics of the granite of uranium mineralization,this willprovide a reference for prospecting. The results show that:The main body of Huashan granite is obvious difference with the typical I-S-M-typegranites on the geochemical characteristics, it is basically the same with A-type granites.Comprehensive the petrologic characteristics determined that it is the A-type granites, A2sub-categories. According to the trace element characteristics to determine it is formed inthe post-COLG to WPG tectonic setting.The main body of Huashan granite is rich in uranium, the average background valueof uranium is18.34×10-6. Surface uranium mineralization is common in the northeast ofbody, uranium orebodies which is characterized by secondary uranium mineralization havebeen discovered.Uranium mineralization is close to faults and contact surface of thedifferent lithologies. Hydrothermal alteration is development on both sides of mine, faultsalteration types are mainly potash feldspathization,silicification and hematite. Uraniumcontent of the altered rock is a general increase relative to the fresh rock, especially potashfeldspathization have the largest increase in uranium content. REE characteristics arealmost the same between altered rock and fresh rock, this suggesting alteration fluid andgranite have an inheritance relationship. The study shows that the relationship offine-grained granite veins with uranium mineralization is not obvious.The main body of Huashan granite are different from the major uranium productivegranite of South China on the regional geological background and the type of petrogenesis,but the special petrological geochemical composition is basically the same with uraniumproductive granite. The granite is rich in uranium and F, have a certain scale hydrothermalalteration and veins activities, they are favorable conditions of uranium mineralization. Butthe lack of post-magmatic activity, have not yet found a strong tectonic activity and alarge-scale hydrothermal alteration zones, these are unfavorable factors for the formation of large uranium deposits.
