Research on Spectral Feature of Objects is an important basis research work of RemoteSensing technology and application and essential work of Remote Sensing technology.Different rocks and minerals have different spectral features, Because of the compositionof rock and mineral and its structure is different. So it is possible to extract rock mineralalteration information and the strength of alteration using objects spectrum technology.Drill cores which number is ZK8-4come from Zhushahong copper area in Dexing as thestudy object in this paper. To study extracting rock mineral alteration information andquantification on the basis of study on rock and mineral spectral features. To complete thefollowing main contents:1. Spectral data acquisition method and specification in the field have been studied andconcluded. The observing process of field spectrometer data and the problems that needattention in the actual operation are introduced. The observed spectral data contains noiseand exception information. Because of the influence of wilderness environment andinstrument noise. So data preprocessing before using is extremely important. In this paperspectral data pretreatment methods are discussed in detail by programming and summed upa set of spectral data pretreatment process flow. Which is the foundation for further study.2. Different rocks and minerals have different spectral features. Rock and mineralspectral features is difficult to distinguish, because of the low reflectance of the originalspectral data. Envelope removed and normalization is commonly used spectral featuresenhancement technology. It makes the weak spectral features of mineral rock to highlightand is useful for mineral rock information extraction and comparison. Different toenvelope methods is analyzed and compared, we have improved a new envelope removalmethod. It has a good effect in the actual application.3. The mineral altered information extraction of cores is realized by programming. Inthis paper the spectral clustering as a starting point, study the characteristics of differentcategories spectrum. On the basis of study on different matched methods of spectrum,Spectral Correlation Fitting is use to extract the altered information of cores and has a goodeffect.4. Alteration mineral spectrum feature parameters are extracted by programming. The feature absorption area is as the parameter to research half quantitative of altered mineralafter analyzed the spectrum characteristics of quantitative parameters what significancehave in geology and determined. Study suggests that the depth and area of featureabsorption have positive correlation which may represent altered information strength anddifference of altered mineral relative content.5. The relations of alteration information and mineralization are analyzed. Throughresearch the relationship between the alteration intensity information extracted and copperelements that shows: in some core the altered strength gradually strengthened along withthe increase of the depth; there are closely associated relations between sericitization andchoritization; in different depth and different Cu grade range, alteration informationstrength and Cu grade have negative correlation.
