The modern theory of the firm pointed out: human capital - as the active elements and the physical capital– as the passive elements are the business contract's two main body, and they take shape of the viability of enterprises and competitiveness so that companies obtain growth. The process of the enterprises'growth shows that, business growth is the process that human capital and physical capital continue to promote and enhance. Whether the enterprises can produce the expected performance and the smooth realization of growth depends largely on the company's human capital and physical capital can make a good match, effective coordination and progressive interaction.Whether the Interaction of Human capital and physical capital affect the competitive advantage is a useful attempt to the open their relationship. This paper argues that the enterprise business growth definitely is the process that making effective use of the two capitals - human capital and physical capital, in addition, it is the process of human capital and physical capital constant interaction, transformation and realization of upgrading. This paper focuses on the interaction between the capitals to find the relationship of competitive advantage and the interaction. And use of empirical data to test the theoretical model.First, on the basis of literature review, we clear the relationship of capital resources and competitive advantage from the interaction of Human capital and the material of corporate point of view. Combined with the features of the human capital-intensive enterprises and the physical capital-intensive enterprises, we study the mechanism of human capital and physical capital's interaction take on the competitive advantage in these two types of enterprise.Secondly, according to the mechanism of human capital and physical capital's interaction affect the competitive advantage, we propose the hypotheses, and select the appropriate system of quantitative indicators, multiple linear regression model to study the problem. Financial data of listed companies are used, and human capital-intensive companies and physical capital-intensive enterprises are measured and comprised.Empirical analysis is applied here. We use China listed companies in Shanghai Stock Exchange as samples. Considering the operating status of listed companies,we gathered finance reports and other data about 757 listed corporations with continual 3 years (from 2007 to 2009). During the research,we build multi-linear regression model, and utilize software Eviews3.1 to test the theoretical model and hypotheses. By analyzing the factors and their interrelations of the model,we propose some reasonable explanations. And we are sure that it is valuable for enterprise to operate resources reasonably.Three main conclusions as follows:(1) Human capital and physical capital can not only independently affect the competitive advantage, but also can affect it by the interaction between them.(2) For different capital-intensive business, the roles of business capitals for competitive advantage are different.(3) For different capital-intensive enterprises, the Mechanism that the interaction of human capital and physical capital affect competitive advantages is different.
