Venture capital, as an emerging industry, has a development of only around 60 years. During this period, it makes great contributions in supporting technological innovation, improve capital market's evolution, increase one country's GDP growth and facilitate employment. However, with the industry's approaching mature, the investment target of global venture capital begin to move backward from seed and establish stage to expand and mature stage, which means the strong capital support for entrepreneurs is gone.In China, the banks occupy an absolutely great amount of capital in the financial system. Bank capital always enjoys the reputation of security and prudence. Therefore, under the background of venture capital's backward movement mentioned above, how can bank capital be one source of venture capital to support entrepreneurs" development? In an increasingly competitive environment, banks'taking part in venture capital industry is not only driven by the current conditions, but also a good opportunity for commercial bank to strengthen business capacity, profit ability and management level. In this case, it is of special significance to scale the risk and payoff in banks'investment into venture capital industry, which is also this thesis's research question. The real option method is adopted in this thesis to probe the value embedding in the uncertainties and a least-squares approach is employed to make decision rules. The approach is expected to effectively support the banks'investment into venture capital industry so that a mutual benefit result for both banks and entrepreneurs are achieved.
