Weihai Eco-tourism Resources Distribution And Development Model Studies

Since the 1990s, the research on the ecotourism has become a hop topic as a result of the worldwide rapid development of the ecotourism. However many present theoretical studies on the ecotourism haven't reached a mature level with an insufficiently close link between the theory and the practice. Moreover, there do exist some misunderstandings of the ecotourism products among the people who merely take the products as the primitive ecotourism ones, which leads to a generalization on the ecotourism, a lack of explicit cognition about the issues of products structure, market development and options on the tourist source market concerning the ecotourism.This thesis will make a rigid definition of ecotourism and illustrate its connotation, characteristic, classification and relation with other tourism products. The ecotourism products not only refer to ecological landscape which bases on the primitive ecotourism resources, but comprise the eco-cultural landscape on the form of quasi-primitive ecotourism resources. Meanwhile this thesis will make a detailed analysis of the studies on the ecotourism from the aspects of planning, design, management and evaluation to explore the scientific grounds on the realization of sustainable developing ecotourism.This thesis will take Weihai city as an object of the study, thoroughly demonstrate the significance, advantages and restraints on the city's development of the ecotourism and put forward its sustainable developing countermeasures. Weihai city possesses the advantages on the location, natural resources, passenger sources, city and social environmental construction with a development of the ecotourism. However, a lagged overall planning, deficient technological support and weak ecological consciousness confine the city's ecotourism development. Therefore, it is strongly recommended in this thesis to institute a sustainable developing countermeasure concerning the ecotourism on its planning, environmental evaluation and capacity, establishment of effective management model, enhancement on the cultivation of professional personnel as well as popularization of the ecological knowledge among the tourists.
