Abstract/Summary:
Along with technology innovations, location based service (LBS) in China has undergone rapid growth with fierce competition among the companies. On the 10th conference on Internet, professionals and experts from related fields have concurred that LBS will be a standard application in the mobile internet industry. Moreover, it is most likely to be the first application with a 10-billion market scale. However, not all the developers and operators can keep a long-term surviving and sustainable profitability. Therefore, it is of vital importance to enhance the LBS consumers' continuance intention from where the developers and operators of LBS applications will benefit a lot. This dissertation synthesizes the task technology fit model (TTF) and the expectation-confirmation model of information systems (ECM-IT) to hypothesize a theoretical model to research the affecting factors of the continuance intentions toward the LBS applications. Based on literature review, the hypothesized model is validated empirically using 276 valid samples by questionnaire and online survey, making use of SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 18.0 softwares. Research conclusions are as follows:Firstly, technology characteristics have a significant effect on the task technology fit while task characteristics have not. Possibly it is due to the certainty and stability of tasks when using LBS applications. Secondly, task technology fit affects the continuance intention of LBS applications through the influence of perceived usefulness, and perceived usefulness also has an indirect impact on continuance intention through the impact on user satisfaction. Lastly, perceived usefulness has more significant effect on users' continuance intention than users' satisfaction does. Besides, conformation has a positive effect on perceived usefulness and on users'satisfaction, while the former influence is relatively small.
