Analysis Of Temporal And Spatial Variation Of Inbound Tourism Of Guangdong Province

Inbound tourism is an important indicator to measure national and regional tourism development, which can increase tourism benefits and revenue, promote cultural exchanges and cooperation and so on. Since China's reform and opening up in 1978, Guangdong has carried out the inbound tourism. From 1978 to 2009,the international tourist arrivals in Guangdong and the tourism foreign exchange revenues are both the NO.1. Unfortunately, inbound tourism growth rate becomes slowly and stagnant growth evenly in recent years. From perspectives of the temporal and spatial variation of inbound tourist-guest source and inbound tourist destination ,analyze the characteristic of the temporal and spatial variation of inbound tourism, find out the affected factors and resloution measures of inbound tourism of Guangdong province.All that can provide some case reference to make tourism planning for tourism departments.Firstly, take inbound tourists, inbound incomes , inbound tourists from Hong Kong,Macao and Taiwan and inbound foreign tourists to analyze temporal of inbound tourist-guest source. Inbound tourism of Guangdong province is divided four phases, the initial phase and rapid growth phase in 1978-1987, the slow growth phase in 1988-1995, the stable growth phase in 1996-2002, the stagnant growth in 2003-2009. Utilize transcontinental tourist-guest source, the top 16 of inbound tourist-guest source, tourist flow concentration and spatial centralizing index to analyze spatial of inbound tourist-guest source.Secondly, through data form sample survey of inbound tourists in 1995-2009 to analyze overnight tourists, one day tourists and cross-boundary tourists as well as spatial distribution of diffusing inbound tourists.Thirdly, take overnight tourists and inbound incomes to analyze temporal of inbound tourist destination, and take market competitive state to analyze the characteristics of spatial of inbound tourist destination.Fourthly, from the prospects of inbound tourist-guest source and destination, analyze affected factors of inbound tourism development of Guangdong province. There are domestic policy environment, location, domestic competitive factors which are internal factors, and international environment, economic levels, political situation, tourism policy that are exogenous factors. Affected factors of inbound tourist destination included tourism attractions, industrial structure, locations and economic foundation.Fifthly, reposting inbound tourist-guest source and emphasize publicity and promotion of inbound tourism, integrating tourism attractions of regions and constructing regional characteristics, all can enhance inbound tourism development of Guangdong province.
