Nowadays, enterprises are faced with the complex and volatile economic environment. Driven by the economic interests, there is a growing trend of asset overestimations in the companies and corporations. The overvaluation in financial reports had a serious impacts on the decision of the users, reduced the company's credibility and cansed many adverse effects to the economic development. In order to fairly reflect the state assets of a certain company and to the decision-making, assets impairment becomes an unavoidable issue. Asset impairment accounting becomes a current hot topic of accounting in the world.On 15 February 2006, "Enterprise Accounting Standards No.8-impaiment of assets" was issued by Ministry of Finance in China, and the listed companies implenented in January 1, 2007. From now on, impaiment of assets takes an independent criterion to step into the historical arena.Based on the theory of basic accounting impairment of assets,the new accounting standards related to the impairment of assets in the paper.Then the impacts on the execution of the asset depreciation accounting policy have been proved prominent by the analysis of the execution of asset depreciation accounting policy in the listed companies. At the same time, by comparing the old and the new listed companies on the impact of profit guidelines. It proves that the implementation of a new impairment of assets can control of the enterprises to take advantage of Impairment of Assets conclusions profit manipulation effectively, but in the process of implementation of the new guidelines for asset impairment, there are also some problem, and finally from asset impairment and standardized criteria to make recommendations to improve it.
