As one of China's strategic industries, equipment manufacturing industry has now become an important pillar industry of national economic development. Along with the rapid technological innovation, how to improve the R&D team effectiveness has become the key to build and maintain core competitiveness of the equipment manufacturing industry. Reward structure, as one of the most important incentives to team members an incentive, plays an important role to cooperate team members and improve team effectiveness effectively. In this process, the role of transactive memory system should also not be ignored. It provides new methods and voleds to identifying expertise, assigning tasks and cooperation in the project team from three levels of specialization, credibility and coordination, but also provides a new perspective for the research of team effectiveness.In this paper, on the basis of reading previous literature, through interviews, questionnaire survey research and rigorous data analysis for the equipment manufacturing industry R&D team, we research the relationship of equipment manufacturing industry R&D team, transactive memory system and team effectiveness, and thus draw the following conclusions:(1) The reward structure of equipment manufacturing industry R&D team includes three parts:the benchmarking of base salary, the benchmarking of bonuses and the form of distribution of team bonuses within the team. These three parts are all have a significant impact on the team effectiveness.(2) The reward structure and the team effectiveness of the equipment manufacturing industry R&D team are significantly correlated.(3) In the impact process of transactive memory system on the team effectiveness, specialization, credibility and coordination of transactive memory system all have significantly positive correlation with team effectiveness. Specialization, credibility has a positive correlation with the team vitality; coordination has a positive correlation with the team satisfaction.(4) The reward structure and transactive memory system in general show a significant positive correlation, but the distribution of bonuses within team plays a negative role on the coordination of transactive memory system. (5) Transactive memory system plays an intermediary role in the process of reward structure impacts on the team effectiveness.Finally, according to the above conclusions, the study made practical suggestions to how to improve the R&D team effectiveness in the equipment manufacturing industry effectively then pointed out the shortage of this research and the future research directions.
