The Influence And Strategy Of SA8000 Standards To The International Competitiveness Of Export Enterprises In China

Aftere joined the World Trade Organization. China's foreign trade volume increases year by year. But at the same time ,the emerging restrictions based on the principles of fair trade also present more challenges. SA8000 Social Accountability was one of it. As SA8000 mainly provide the labor standards that enterprises must be observed during the production process. Labor-intensive industry is the most affected. China's exports are mainly labor-intensive products, so the SA8000 standard had a huge impact on China's exports.This paper is hoped that through the use of economics and international trade theory, analysis the background and the economic effects generated by SA8000 and use it to analysis the impact on export trade and international competitiveness of export enterprises, And to make some recommendations options from the enterprise level, government level, and industry associations three areas, which has great theoretical and practical significance for the healthy development of China's export enterprises and improve our international competitiveness of export enterprises . Then discussed the meaning and background of SA8000, the main contents and characteristics of SA8000, and then from international respect and domestic respect analyzed the development status of the SA8000. Next analyzed the economic effects of SA8000. The partial equilibrium model was used in this part to analyze the economic benefits of SA8000, and then extended the model. Then analyzes the double impacts of SA8000 to the export trade of China. Including the negative impact implementation of SA8000 on the short term and export volume growth in a long term. Next describes the impact of SA8000 standards to the international competitiveness of export business, mainly from the negative and positive aspects . Then discusses the main problems of implementation SA8000 in China enterprises and the main reasons of he problems. Finally put forward a strategy to SA8000 standards from the corporate, government and industry associations.
