Research On WMI Implementation Solution In H Company

The globalization of market drives enterprise to think again whether the traditional way of supply chain meets the requirements of the enterprise. The traditional inventory management model has already lost market competition, because it can not offer the quick and accurate responsiveness to the customer. Meanwhile, the high cost of inventory leads to increase the cost of company's operation.Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI), as a newly inventory management strategy, which breaks the traditional inventory management model, highly reflects the integrated supply chain management concept which adapts to the variable market need. The successful VMI strategy implementation, which aims to improve the inventory issue and to increase the flexibility of the supply chain, requires and depends on choosing the proper VMI model, the standard implementation process and the managerial measurement for long terms. This thesis proposes the VMI model which is suitable for H company based on the research and analysis on H company's inventory issue. The thesis also introduces the scope of implementation VMI, standard of process (SOP) of implementation VMI and build up VMI information system. Finally, the thesis analyzes the implementation effect of H Company before and after implementing VMI in the qualitative and quantitative aspect. Meanwhile, the thesis also concludes the difficulties and issues in the process of implementation VMI and proposes the improvement for the current VMI model.
