Abstract/Summary:
Along with the improvement of our country economic openness, more and more enterprises have participated in international industry circulation and division. The level of risk and uncertainty which the enterprises face has reached an unprecedented height. As a means of controlling risks, derivatives have been used by enterprises in our country gradually, thus, domestic derivatives develop rapidly. But, meanwhile, the loss events appeared repeatedly for the using of derivatives, such as the loss events about "China Aviation Oil(Singapore)""Air China" and "China Eastern Airlines". These events make investors understand the substantial risks which the derivatives contain profoundly. We use derivatives as a method of avoiding risks, not a source of enterprise risk, How can we achieve it, this is worth considering earnestly. The accounting information about derivatives can be gained comprehensively, which is an effective measure of avoiding loss and preventing risks. High quality of derivatives accounting information is the general demand of stakeholders. In 2006, China's ministry of finance issued accounting disclosure rule about financial tools, other regulators also released relevant regulations on the accounting information disclosure, the aim is that enterprises can provide decision-making related information for users by standardizing accounting information disclosure. But, in actual application, there are many aspects to be perfected: This paper aims to study these problems in-depth analysis, and makes a contribution to the improvement of quality of derivatives accounting information. This paper adopts the method of normative research. The first part is the introduction section, including the research background, research significance and literature review. The second part states on related content about derivatives, the definition, economic functions, classification and risks are summarized, which makes a good foundation for the following content. And then, the paper makes the information asymmetry theory and decision-making availability as a start point, expounds the necessity of existence of derivatives accounting information disclosure from theoretical aspect, and then from two aspects of the accounting measurement attribute and stakeholder'information demands, the paper thinks that derivatives accounting information disclosure also has the necessity of existence in practice. Since its existence is rationality, it should be standardized, which can make it play a good role. The third part states on relevant provisions that are made by standard setting bodies at home and abroad, and though the comparative study of this content, the paper obtains influences on our country standard. The fourth part is about situation of our country enterprises'actual accounting information disclosure, points out the existing problems from three aspects of accounting standards, enterprise and external supervision:standard content is not comprehensive, fair value valuation technology is lack of guidance, enterprises' disclosure is not timely, internal control has serious defect, external supervision is short of systematic standard, regulatory efficiency is low. According the problems, the paper puts forward corresponding solutions from three aspects of accounting standard, enterprise and external supervision:in standard's level, improvement measures include that we should formulate special financial derivatives standard'application guidelines, expand off-balance-sheet disclosure content, add financial derivatives detailed list and so on; in enterprise's level, improvement measures contain that enterprises should consummate derivatives internal control, improve accountant professional skill; in supervision level, proposals are that we should perfect regulation system, establish a financial derivatives accounting information platform, and intensify sanctions.
