With the development of dense wavelength division multiplexing system (DWDM), cable TV networks (CATV) and Fiber To The Home (FTTH) technology,people's requirement for high-power fiber amplifier growing stronger and stronger. Er3+/Yb3+ co-doped double-clad fiber amplifier (EYDFA) can provide higher output power than traditional erbium-doped fiber amplifier (EDFA), dramatically reducing the cost of amplifier's unit power, has become a research hotspot in the field.This thesis introduces the principle of Er3+/Yb3+co-doped double-clad fiber amplifier; sets up the theory model of Er3+/Yb3+co-doped double-clad fiber amplifier by rate equation and transmission equation, and through the model analyzes the project to improve the gain flatness characteristic of that amplifier; explores the influence of Er3+/Yb3+ co-doped double-clad fiber amplifier to the CATV transmission system and WDM system. |
