More and more researchers began to pay much attention to the security of WSN (Wireless Sensor Network) for the wide use of wireless sensor mote. As a result of high-restrained resource in sensor mote, many researchers thought that it was unfeasible to run the PKI (Public Key Cryptography) on WSN. However, some research results showed it was affordable to run the ECC(Elliptic Curve Cryptography), a kind of more effective PKI in WSN. Besides, Pairing-Based Cryptography drawed a great deal of attention. Some researchers did a lot of work on this area, and surely paid off. In 2007, the Tate Pairing was firstly implemented for sensor nodes based on the 8-bit/7.3828-MHZ ATmegal 128L microcontroller, which is present in the MICA family of sensor nodes. Pairing-Based Cryptography can solve some secure problems in WSN.This thesis review theory fundamental firstly, including Cryptography, Group theory, finite field theory and ECC. Then giving a deep inside to bilinear pairing, including Weil Pairing and Tate pairing, and compare with them specifically, exlain why Tate pairing is more effective then Weil pairing. In order to run Tate pairing on the senor node, some optimized ways is present in this thesis. Finally, one IBE (Identity-Based Encryption) scheme is given, and design two kinds of implementing ways, then give the test result on TOSSIM, TinyVIZ and MICAz respectively.
