Based On Temporal Database Of Timedb Reseach And Application

The real world changes and develops along the time. Time is not only the all—pervasive nature of objective attribute, but also is the essential attribute of information. With the development of the computer science and information technology, Traditional Database has can't deal with the Temporal information. At that time, the temporal Database appears. Within the past thirty years, the researches of temporal database theory have got great achievements; but the implementation technologies just stats. In fact, so far there is not a pure temporal database system. The temporal database are based on traditional database and implement through the conversion of the middleware.The thesis mainly includes three part. Firstly, it introduces the development history and the basic concepts of the temporal database, on the basis of this analysis and compares some different temporal data models and the special data operations of the temporal database. Secondly, the thesis analyzes the design principle of the middleware TimeDB, and analyzes the methods and principles of ATSQL2, which is a temporal query language, then demonstrate the use of the language with examples. Finally, a library management system is developed using the APIs of the TimeDB. Compared to the traditional database, the temporal database system has advantages in the processing of temporal information and the changes of database status.
