With the rapid development of science and technology, great convenience and comfort has been brought to human life and manufacturing. However, at the same time, it also has brought a lot of irreparable alteration and destruction to the natural environment. As a result, the kind and quantity of species on earth become fewer and fewer. What's more, a great many kinds of wild animals and plants has already become extinct. So it's very necessary to pay our attention on the conservation and research of plants and animals. This article took the wild Milu in Dafeng Milu Protection Area of Jiangsu as researching object. In order to resolve time-consuming, labor-intensive and inefficiency issues in the tranditional monitoring method, this thesis researched and developed a hardware platform system of wildlives'remote dynamic monitoring based on wireless sensors network.This thesis made a study on the advantages and disadvantages of tracking and positioning technology that was used in traditional animals monitoring, and analyzed the domestic and overseas development and applying trend of wireless sensors network. Concerning about the characters and needs of the Milu monitoring system, the research of this thesis applied a kind of node deployment style, which combined self-organizing individual nodes (electronic collar) with group nodes (sink node). According to the techniques and methods of wireless sensor network, the designment and network application of individual nodes and group nodes was achieved. All the data would be transfered to the monitoring center via GPRS remote wireless communication technology, so that the long-distance monitoring and the analysis of the Milu group could be completed.The main work of this thesis includes the following aspects:(1) Using P89LPC938main chip, LR9548SX GPS module, APC240module and other parts, the hardware design and driving program of the individual nodes were completed.(2) Applied with main chip of STM32series, M590GPRS modules, DP83848ethernet chip and other components, the hardware of group nodes was designed. Besides, the article completed the software designment of the group nodes, which transplanted μC/OS-II operating system.(3)Based on the design of hardware platform and the application characters of this new system, a set of network communication protocol was developed, which could ensure the high reliability and efficiency in data transfering, using mechanism of answering retransmission, data validation, CSMA/CA and so on.(4) Based on the hardware and software designment, technology of energy supplying, as well as nodes state management, the new monitoring system was completed, which could avoid unnecessary energy wasting.
