As an important component of modern internet application, virtual community provides a platform of information sharing and communication, which meets the needs of common information retrieving and opinion discussing. Virtual community is also considered to the continuation and development of traditional community in the digital age. As the development of Web2.0, more and more users organize the information by themselves. This demonstrates the freedom of speech in internet, and shows the tendency of uncentralized information dissemination. Therefore, it seems to be more and more difficult to control the information quality in virtual community, which is the tough problem that most virtual communities are currently facing.This thesis summarized the relevant paper on virtual community, information quality, evaluation methods and control algorithm, and then take an empirical research on information management methods that adopted by Baidu Zhidao, Zhihu, Facebook and Google+. Through the comparing and analyzing, we can sort out the main methods on information governance and its insufficient aspects. Finally, we may learn some rich experiences from abroad, thus enhancing the efficiency of dealing with information governance issue of virtual community.It is concluded that the consciousness of users is various based on different characteristics of virtual community and users, their participation motivation, behavior and qualification. That causes difference in information governance of virtual community. The governance by government is necessary; however, it is not enough if it ignores the efforts of Virtual community, which really matters. We are aim to upgrade and clean the environment of internet based on the speech freedom rules and deepen users'sense of identity and belonging in the light of proper management and control on the virtual community.
