Light Social Action In The Age Of Internet

In recent years, more and more collective actions are taking place by a new way. People with spirit of citizenship join together, but do not form a specific organization, because of public events or policy. They express themselves and take action by a moderate way which is within the law and is under state power.Based on case study, I find theses special actions have some common features which are different from traditional collective action, social movement, or revolution. They break through the limit of time and space, break down the barriers between the mass and the elite. In a self-organizing system, people are keen on expressing themselves by means of original words, works, actions and so on, as if they are competing with each other. They interact freely both on internet and in social reality. Theses actions are moderately with specific demands. Each of them does not last too long but has a complete life cycle. So I try to call theses special actions "light social action". Then this paper explains why more and more persons take part in light social actions, and why theses actions work quite well. At last, we analyze the power of light social action:strong and weak.
